ABOUT THE ROLE

The Art Director plays a key role in creating work that builds brands and drives results. Working closely with Strategy, Account, Creative, and Studio teams, they help turn ideas into strong visual systems, campaigns, and shopper experiences across in-store, digital, and omnichannel touchpoints.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves big ideas, strong design craft, and the details that make the work better. From concept development to final execution, you will help create work that connects with shoppers, supports client goals, and elevates the brands we work on.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Creative Vision & Ideation

  • Develop creative concepts, campaigns, key visuals, and visual systems across in-store, digital, and omnichannel touchpoints.
  • Turn insights, shopper behavior, and strategy into clear creative ideas that connect with audiences and support brand objectives.
  • Create layouts, mock-ups, presentations, and design systems that bring ideas to life from early concept through final execution.
  • Stay hands-on throughout the process, giving direction and feedback while helping strengthen the work.


Client Engagement & Presentation

  • Build clear, compelling presentations that explain the idea, the thinking, and why the work matters.
  • Present creative with confidence and help clients understand the vision behind the work.
  • Partner with Account and Strategy teams to shape strong creative approaches and support positive client relationships.


Creative Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide creative direction and guidance throughout the design process, helping shape ideas from concept to production.
  • Lead by example through strong design craft, collaboration, and a commitment to making the work better.
  • Support junior team members with clear feedback, encouragement, and opportunities to grow.
  • Build a strong understanding of client brands, visual standards, and tone to keep creative consistent and effective.
  • Stay curious about emerging design, culture, technology, and AI tools that can help keep the work fresh and relevant.
  • Balance multiple projects while maintaining high creative standards, meeting deadlines, and keeping teams informed.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 5+ years of agency experience in art direction and design, or equivalent experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, design craft, and creative thinking across multiple channels and media.
  • Proven ability to develop and guide creative vision from idea through execution.
  • Strong understanding of shopper marketing, retail environments, and how design influences consumer behaviour.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to listen, problem-solve, and build on feedback.
  • Curiosity for emerging design, cultural, and technology trends, and the ability to turn those insights into relevant creative ideas.
  • Completion of an accredited design program or equivalent design-related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Curiosity about new tools, technologies, and AI-driven workflows that can improve efficiency and support creative development.
