IME is seeking a highly skilled and motivated BIM/VDC Senior Lead to join our dynamic electrical construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and advancement of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes across multiple projects and teams. This individual will serve as both a technical expert and team leader, partnering closely with project teams to manage the creation of 3D Revit models for BIM coordination and the production of field and fabrication drawings, while also driving process improvements, mentorship, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

BIM/VDC Leadership & Implementation

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of BIM and VDC processes across assigned projects and teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM execution plans to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Establish and promote BIM/VDC best practices, workflows, and quality standards across the organization.
  • Drive innovation and recommend improvements in BIM/VDC technologies, processes, and project delivery methods.

Modeling & Coordination

  • Oversee the creation and management of detailed 3D models using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM software.
  • Lead clash detection and coordination efforts to identify and resolve design conflicts early, minimizing rework and project risk.
  • Support the production of accurate field installation and fabrication drawings.

Collaboration & Project Oversight

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders through digital coordination platforms.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and internal teams to ensure seamless coordination and information exchange.
  • Oversee multiple BIM/VDC projects concurrently, ensuring schedules, deliverables, and quality expectations are achieved.
  • Partner with project leadership to support planning, constructability reviews, scheduling, logistics, and cost optimization efforts.

VDC Process Optimization

  • Utilize Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methodologies to enhance project planning, sequencing, logistics, and construction execution.
  • Implement and refine simulation and coordination techniques to improve project efficiency and productivity.
  • Support field layout operations and coordination utilizing Total Station technologies.

Team Leadership, Training & Mentorship

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to BIM/VDC team members and project staff.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives for BIM/VDC personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for complex BIM/VDC challenges.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in BIM/VDC practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM/VDC software platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and electrical construction practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer-Aided Drafting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive BIM/VDC experience within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience leading BIM/VDC efforts on electrical construction projects.
  • Experience managing or mentoring BIM/VDC team members preferred.
  • BIM/VDC-related certifications are a plus.

Working Conditions

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment; however, some time will be spent on active construction job sites. While on-site, you may encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud, debris, welding activities, leading edges, trenching, and confined spaces. Travel between multiple job sites may be required throughout the day.

Full-time employees are eligible to choose from a variety of healthcare coverage options, which become effective the first of the month following hire. In addition, employees are offered a substantial amount of PTO and are immediately eligible to make contributions to a generously matched and fully vested 401(k).

Salary Range

$97,500 – $132,250
Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
