Job description

Manufacturing Operator, 3D Printing
Kalogon, a smart seating startup based in Melbourne, seeks a Manufacturing Operator to help us build cutting-edge medical equipment using 3D printers.
As our Manufacturing Operator, you will be responsible for owning the entire process of 3D printing and processing custom-made medical equipment for individuals who use wheelchairs.
Hours:
  • 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Key Responsibilities:
  • Run a bank of resin and FDM 3D printers, staging jobs, starting prints, and harvesting finished parts to keep machines producing through the shift.
  • Post-process printed parts: support removal, washing, curing, cleanup, and finishing to established standards.
  • Perform first-pass inspection on every part, catching print defects (layer shift, warping, incomplete cure, poor bed adhesion) before they reach Quality Control.
  • Diagnose issues on the floor and implement practical fixes.
  • Contribute ideas to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D on prototypes and pilot builds.
Required skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude - you pick up new tools and processes quickly
  • Problem-solver who thinks on their feet
  • Background in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a maker/technical environment is a plus
  • Background in 3D-modeling or CAM is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
