Job description

Our Glenwood Springs, Meeker, Durango, Telluride and/or Gunnison, Colorado office is currently seeking a Survey Technician Party Chief. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in the following areas: boundary, easement, right of ways, topo surveys, GPS RTK and Static surveys, design surveys, aerial mapping, and construction layout. We will consider candidates with no direct experience if they demonstrate interest in a long-term survey career, strong math skills, a hard work ethic, and a desire to work outdoors.

Pay is based on experience & qualifications:

$29.50-$45.40/hr.

Benefits may be prorated for part-time employees. This position will be posted until filled but no sooner than three days from now.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the client, the client’s representative, and contractors
  • Supervise field survey team
  • Ensure team is properly equipped with personal protection equipment and following safety protocol
  • Prepare field notes
  • Follow local state and federal survey regulations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of land surveying experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Physically capable of performing typical land surveying tasks including the ability to carry 50+ lbs. of survey gear through mountainous terrain
  • Detailed understanding of coordinate systems
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
  • Motivated problem solver
  • Ability to work long hours when needed with occasional out-of-town travel
  • Strong desire to live, work and play in Western Colorado

  • Colorado LSI or PLS
  • Experience as a Party Chief
  • Civil 3D experience
  • GIS experience
  • Trimble software and hardware experience
  • Diverse surveying experience with GPS and conventional surveying equipment including boundary retracement, construction staking, topographic mapping, and legal description preparation
