Job description

Holmes Geospatial is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager for full-time employment, based in our Asheville, NC office. The Construction Project Manager leads construction surveying projects from initial site layout through final as-built closeout - managing 3D machine control models, field control, crews, schedules, and budgets while serving as the primary point of contact for general contractors, subcontractors, and design teams. Our firm serves both private and public clients on construction projects throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. This position offers an excellent opportunity to lead, grow, and advance within a fast-growing construction division and a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere.

  • Operate AutoCAD/Carlson and Trimble Business Center, and/or oversee drafting technicians
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets, coordinating daily with general contractors, subcontractors, and design teams
  • Supervise and mentor field crews and drafting/closeout staff
  • Interpret civil construction plans – grading, utilities, storm, sewer, water, curb and road, and building layout

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D (higher education a plus)
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • 5+ years of construction surveying and site layout experience
  • Experience building and running 3D machine control models (Trimble or comparable)
  • Project management experience, including managing schedules, budgets, and client communication
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans
  • Must be willing and able to listen, learn, and teach others
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and develop a team
  • Proficiency with survey/CAD software such as Carlson, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or Trimble Business Center
