Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Spring, TX that is seeking a 3D Modeler.
Responsibilities:
* Digitizes the steel structures into a 3D model from construction drawings of ships in PDF format
* Digitizes the hull form and creates a HECSALV model from construction drawings of ships in PDF format
* Completes Hull Inspection model with Hull Inspection Admin Tool
* Assists in development of Critical Area Knowledge libraries
* Assists in creating VIM databases on selected New Construction projects from information found in Freedom database systems
* Assists Lead Modeler in technical training and mentoring of Modelers
* Assists Lead Modeler in monitoring the technical quality, content, consistency and continuity of assigned projects
* Proposes new approaches to problems encountered and makes recommendations for changes in methods and procedures
* Communicates the status of the current workload to all appropriate members of the team to ensure the needs of the clients will be met
* Participates in related training seminars
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Associate Degree in Engineering
* Five or more years of experience in Creo is required.
* Hands on 3D CAD Modeling with Creo; Windchill PLM experience desired
* Hands on experience with Creo Basic Modeling techniques, Advanced Assembly, Advanced Surface Design (ASDX), Framework (AFX), and Import Data Doctor (IDD)2
* Hands on experience with Basic Creo Modeling techniques, Advanced Creo Modeling techniques and Surface Creo Modeling techniques
* Exposure to Finite Element Methods, AutoCAD, Rhino - Hands on experience is preferred
* Experience in modeling hull forms and structure using one or more of the following: Hecsalv, GHS, Rhino, ShipConstructor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar
* Experience in Structural Steel Components and Naval Architecture is a plus
* Working knowledge of SQL, databases, or similar is a plus
* Working knowledge of Hexagon Smart 3D is a plus
* Ability to visualize 3D from 2D drawings
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
