Job description

Helm Tool is interviewing for CNC Milling Machinists who specialize in 5-axis.

Helm Tool is a Designer and Builder of Tooling for the Plastic Injection Mold Industry. We have been in business for over 45 years. Our shop is a modern, clean, climate-controlled building. We have the latest Machining technology which includes 5-axis Machining Centers.

We are interested in finding the right candidates with experience in the following areas:

  • 5-axis CNC Machining
  • Set-up and job planning
  • Machining pre-hardened tool steels such as stainless steel, S-7, H-13 etc.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Mold Shop experience a plus

Our primary 5-axis machines are DMG with Heidenhain 640 controls

This is a hands-on position. CNC Machinists will plan their jobs and set up and operate their machines. 3D programming is a plus, but not required. Opportunities exist to do 3D programming and other Engineering tasks.

We would consider transitioning the right 3-axis CNC Machinist candidate to 5-axis.
