3D Custom Designer

Location: Baltimore, MD Area (Onsite)

Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday-Friday

About the Opportunity

Actalent is seeking a creative and detail-oriented 3D Custom Designer to join a growing team specializing in custom displays, exhibits, trade show environments, and branded experiences. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys transforming client ideas into compelling visual concepts and production-ready designs while collaborating closely with clients, project managers, sales teams, and fabrication professionals.

The ideal candidate has experience developing 2D graphics and 3D renderings, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and creating designs that are both visually engaging and practical for production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create 2D graphic designs for trade show exhibits, permanent displays, signage, and branded environments.
  • Develop 3D design concepts and renderings from initial concept through final client presentation.
  • Translate client goals, budgets, and timelines into creative and functional design solutions.
  • Produce detailed design documentation and specifications to support fabrication and installation.
  • Develop client-facing presentations and participate in design reviews and presentations.
  • Communicate design intent effectively with clients, sales teams, project managers, and production personnel.
  • Coordinate design revisions and ensure projects remain aligned with client requirements.
  • Manage multiple active and upcoming projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain organized project files, archives, and design assets within a Mac-based workflow.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design, Exhibit Design, Environmental Design, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Experience creating:
    • 2D graphics
    • Line drawings
    • Show drawings
    • 3D renderings
  • Experience using design software such as:
    • Vectorworks
    • Artlantis
    • AutoCAD
    • SketchUp
    • Rhino
    • Revit
    • Similar 3D visualization software
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Exhibit Design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience presenting concepts directly to clients.
  • Trade show, exhibit, experiential marketing, museum, retail, or custom display design experience.

This is a Permanent position based out of Windsor Mill, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.

1. PTO: typically prorates the first year, 1 week vacation time, 5 days sick time. Maxes out at 4 weeks, 5 six days. Benefits: 401k (5% matches at 1%) - healthcare, dental, vision contributes $300 a month towards 1/3
