Job description


The production supervisor will provide the necessary leadership to ensure that the operations group has the proper operations controls, procedures, people and systems in place to effectively execute daily production schedules.
Responsibilities:
  • Leads a team of hourly and salaried associates to ensure efficient production of products.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for all associates through actively participating in the plant Central Safety Committee and daily observations.
  • Works cross functionally with departments to ensure production operates efficiently while minimizing downtime, meeting scheduling deadlines, and managing labor and associate schedules to budget expectations.
  • Continuously promotes motivation among the staff to strive for more efficient and productive manufacturing operations, including modeling and leading high standards of safety, quality, customer service, productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices.
  • Will perform the duties of the Operations Director in their absence.
  • Manage and create weekly scheduling for employees and making adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with QA in the performance of product recalls and recoveries.
  • Ensuring that safety and health guidelines are followed
  • Monitor production standards and quality
  • Monitor product yield and product labor cost
  • Communicating effectively with managers and supervisors providing input and utilizing others' ideas to reach or exceed planned profit margins
  • Estimating costs for processed products
  • Compile, store, and retrieve production data
  • Develop actionable plans to address processing gaps

Leadership Responsibility:
  • Energetic forward thinking individual with ability to maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain an active physical presence on the production floor as required
  • Ability to manage a project from its initiation to completion with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability to carry out defined procedures with or without specific instructions including the ability to learn new duties.
  • Experience in people development
  • Previous experience with staff management
  • Capable of working without direction

Qualifications:
Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing and/or food processing in a department management capacity

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of KPI's and tracking
  • Knowledge of OEE's
  • Strong ability to reduce labor
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong business acuity.
  • Basic understanding of P&L
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Basic comprehension of process improvement methodology
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively throughout multiple levels of the organization.

Schedule:
  • Stationed at our New Warehouse across the street
  • 2nd Shift ( 4:30pm until production ends)
  • Must be able to work Sundays
