Description:

Family-owned and -operated since 1964, TFE provides high-quality Fluid Power and Power Transmission products to northeast and central Indiana, northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. TFE is a growing company with emphasis on quality products and service for the OEM customer and the end user.


We are seeking a 2nd Shift Counter Sales/ Production Associate to join our team!ย 

This role is a unique blend of customer service, hands on problem solving and specialized production assembly.ย 


Schedule:ย 

Monday-Friday

2nd Shift 2pm-10pmย 

However all training will be done on 1st shift, 7am-4pm.ย 


Purpose and Scope of the Counter Sales Associate:ย 

Assist customers in a courteous and cordial manner and solicit additional sales, charge out merchandise and make necessary entries to the inventory control system, distribute special order parts, receive warranty parts, maintain shelf stock and keep counter clear and neat. Assemble hoses for the customers. ย Contact customers regarding orders that have not been picked up within twenty-four hours of ordering.


Essential Functions

  • Make entries to inventory control system assuring proper records are kept with current pricing, as well as the recording and entering of special orders.
  • Assist customers by properly identifying needed items, using parts catalogs or computer, price items and print tickets.
  • Make sure that the customer receives the correct part and on time, as promised.
  • Study and stay current on new product bulletins and catalogs.
  • Be complete and concise in entering all necessary information in the inventory control system records.
  • Document and correct discrepancies between inventory records and shelf quantities.
  • Always see that defective merchandise is tagged properly with date, correct part number and filed in the returns area.
  • Document sample items on report for Purchasing; Record and communicate lost sales.
  • Maintain a clean and organized retail area while displaying product price for purchase.
  • Maintain favorable retail margins for material sold.
  • Must maintain personal grooming to achieve a neat and clean professional appearance along with wearing only TFE or other management-approved apparel.
  • Perform hose assembly or related processes to meet production demand.


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 3 years customer service experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in power transmission or fluid power products highly preferred.ย 



Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Standing or leaning while working.
  • Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, quote requests, blueprints, and other memos. Ability to convey information in a courteous manner.
  • Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, calculate ratios, interchange fractions and decimal equivalents freely, and perform other simple mathematical calculations.
  • Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense/empirical information to customer requests, which lead to quoting and customer orders.
  • Lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid drivers license.
