Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are safe, reliable, maintainable, and delivered on time. LCE encompasses several disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers.

As part of this mission, the Raytheon (RTX) Technical Publications team has an immediate opening for a Technical Illustrator. In this role, you will support the Patriot Technical Publications Writers by creating precise 2D and 3D technical illustrations using AutoCAD, while gaining hands-on experience with Raytheon systems and tools

What You Will Do

  • Develop flat, ISO, and jpeg technical illustrations from engineering source data and or redline markups provided by Technical Writers via AutoCAD and Adobe

  • Manage and interpret incoming job requests, verbal instructions, and design briefs into production-ready drawings.

  • Collaborate with Technical Writers and team leader to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.

  • Maintain organized drawing files and version control for multiple concurrent projects

  • Gain hands‑on experience with every element that goes into creating the schematics, illustrations, and visual assets used in our Technical Manuals.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with AutoCAD

  • Experience with engineering or technical drawings in both 3D and line art schematics

  • Experience with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word) and/or experience in reporting using Excel and Word

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Exposure to or knowledge of CREO / SOLIDWORKS and Photoshop software applications

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical drafting principles. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot and correct inconsistencies before they reach production

  • Ability to interpret detailed verbal / written instructions and follow standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and goals

  • Strong time and self‑management skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

The salary range for this role is 38,500 USD - 67,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
