Job Summary
As a Data Scientist II, you will be joining a dynamic team performing cutting edge research across multiple disciplines. Operating in a collaborative environment, you will provide invaluable support to a large government contract. This position offers an exhilarating opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to advancing scientific knowledge and solving our customer's toughest challenges.
This full-time position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data acquisition systems for test environments, enabling real-time collection, processing, and analysis of technical and operational data from bioanalytics, microbiology, materials and chemistry, human factors, systems engineering, and data science activities.
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines that support the ingestion, transformation, and storage of test data from diverse instrumentation sources, ensuring high data integrity and traceability throughout the test lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and test specialists to define data requirements, integrate instrumentation outputs, and optimize data flows for real-time monitoring and post-test analysis.
  • Implement real-time data processing solutions to support rapid assessment of system performance, technical maturity, and operational readiness during test events.
  • Support the creation of technical analysis reports and comparative matrices by integrating real-time and post-test data from instrumentation, modeling, and simulation outputs.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive data packages, analysis summaries, and supporting documentation for technical reviews, risk assessments, and operational recommendations
  • Assist in preparing technical data tables, figures, and interpretations for reports and presentations, peer reviewed publications, and client meetings
  • Interact professionally with internal and external clients, leadership, and team members
  • Some domestic travel is possible but not anticipated.

Key Qualifications
  • Education reflecting one of the following:
    • Master's degree with 5+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience in Physics, Physics engineering, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, or Engineering with a minor, certificate, or emphasis in computer science, data science, bioinformatics and relevant work experience requiring computer programming.
  • Demonstrated proficiencies in computer programming and statical analysis (e.g., Python, R, SPSS).
  • At least one year of experience with task leadership and proven ability to meet project deadlines on schedule and in budget.
  • Ability to learn and understand new programing languages and mathematical concepts.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Sole U.S. citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as a condition of employment

Preferred Qualifications
3 to 8 years of experience in modeling & simulation, statistical analysis, quantitative risk assessment, data science, or related field.
Knowledge of advanced statistics and/or probability.
Experience in modeling & simulation on a government program.
