Job description


First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking a Security Guard to join our Security Department in Downtown Honolulu at our First Hawaiian center.
Compensation:
The pay range for the role is $20.00 - $25.00/hr ; commensurate with experience.
Work Schedule:
This position will primarily be scheduled for the overnight shift of 9:30PM - 5:30AM (hours may vary)
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Security Supervisor, the Security Guard will support the physical security program at First Hawaiian Center (FHC). The duties of the role include, but are not limited to, providing a safe and secure environment for FHB employees, tenants, visitors, in addition to ensuring the security of all bank resources and assets stored on premises and performing daily guard functions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Guard Employee Registration ("Guard Card") - not required at time of hire, must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification required
  • 1 year of experience in physical security, including experience with security monitoring systems (alarms & video)
  • Successful completion of security courses/certification through military/police programs
  • First Aid, CPR and AED trained
  • Ability to effectively work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and business units (such as FHB administrative departments, Main Banking Center, and other bank employees, vendors/contractors, tenants, visitors, and law enforcement authorities)
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and foster cooperation from various types of individuals. Ability to calmly communicate and rationalize with others in various situations.
  • Strong oral and written skills necessary for reports and documentation
  • Ability to effectively monitor surroundings continuously to quickly assess and identify potential treats that require immediate response
  • Ability to maintain composure and make quick, sound decisions in stressful situations and emergencies
  • Ability to use judgement and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to use telephone and portable radio
  • Strong working knowledge of computer and MS applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
