Job description

1ST SHIFT  MATERIAL HANDLER  

JOB SUMMARY
The Material Handler will stage the necessary equipment and material at each assembly cell driven by the team lead.
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Assembly Team Lead and receives direction from the Team Lead and Manufacturing Manager.
  1. Interact with Team Leaders, administrative managers, and floor personnel. · Expected to conduct his or herself in a professional and safe manner.
  2. Maintains a safe and efficient method for handling materials as required daily.
  3. Keep aisles clear and clean, no boxes or pallets on the ground if we have rack space.
  4. Keep the outside area and parking lot clean and organized (stack skids and Gaylord’s neatly).
  5. Help build parts when assembly is slow or not enough operators to build parts
  6. Always keep the assembly team’s material stocked in their cell so we don’t stop production.
  7. Help stage the area with the team lead before the actual production shift starts.
  8. Work with quality on making sure the Finished Goods are approved before we move them.
  9. Assist with inbound inspection
  10. Inventory
  11. Make sure we are labeling product correctly and in a timely fashion whenever needed or requested.
  12. Make certain that items are properly placed and inventoried
  13. Make sure we take out the mini dumpster once a shift, so the trash cans are empty for next shift.
  14.  Make sure equipment is properly plugged in and maintained per 5S
  15. Required to follow all our safety policies and procedures (e.g., completing Forklift Daily Checklist).
  16. Must comply with all power industrial Trucks safety rules and regulations · Assist Team Leader at the start up and shut down of plant.
 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Employee will be sufficiently trained by management and tenured employees approved of providing such training.
  2. Training provided to every employee is intended to ensure that every employee can meet daily expectations and grow through continuous improvement. It is the intention of providing an opportunity for economic growth and advancement within the company.
  3. Employee must have a valid driver’s license
  4. Employee must be able to earn internal Forklift certifications.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Must report to work on time per company attendance policy
  2. Microsoft Experience
  3. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
