Material Handler

Nesco Resource is looking for a 1st shift material handler located in Oxford, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate. Shift: Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM Pay: $18.50-$19.50/Hour Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable material handler to support daily manufacturing operations by moving, staging, and replenishing materials throughout the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring production areas remain stocked, inventory is accurately tracked, and materials are handled safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport raw materials, packaging, components, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Deliver materials to production lines to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • Remove completed products from production areas and move them to designated staging or storage locations.
  • Stage materials for upcoming production runs according to production schedules.
  • Accurately record inventory transactions using scanners or inventory management systems.
  • Label and organize materials to maintain inventory accuracy and product traceability.
  • Assist with receiving incoming shipments by unloading, verifying quantities, and storing materials appropriately.
  • Support shipping activities by preparing and loading finished products as needed.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment is preferred.
  • Forklift experience or certification is preferred (training may be available).
  • Basic computer or barcode scanner experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an entire shift.
