A Laser Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of laser cutting machines to produce products meeting customer quality requirements. Operators must also monitor machine cutting performance and utilization.

Location/Schedule: Macon, GA / 1st shift 

Requirements

What You’ll Do: 

  • Understands machine setup including, but not limited to, program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials.
  • Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines.
  • Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
  • Operate tape measure, calipers, and hand tools.
  • Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively, per specifications.
  • Check quality of products cut and notify supervisor of any quality issues.
  • Load and unload machines.
  • Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by the scheduling department.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment and work area.
  • Monitoring assist and resonator gas levels and recommend supply requirements for daily production.
  • Communicates with management, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
  • Operate fork-lift, pallet jack, and other heavy equipment, if necessary.
  • Practices good housekeeping and safety, always.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Who You Are: 

  • At least 1 year of Laser Operator experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Heavier items require team lift or mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction.
