Job description

Immediate General Production positions available on our Monday through Friday shift, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm.. Must be able to work overtime when needed. Picking experience is a plus!

POSITION SUMMARY

This position works within the production and/or warehouse departments of the company in any of the following capacities:

- Packer - Online Returns Processor

- Sorter - Manifest Operator

- Order Selector

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

This position works under the general supervision of the Manager, Supervisor or Lead.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this position, including arriving at your work station on time at the start of your shift and after rest and meal periods.
  • Accurately picks and/or packs merchandise into a carton or shipping bag along with designated paperwork and/or inserts. Secures label and/or order set onto parcel and may scan order using radio frequency (RF) gun or computer.
  • Stacks and secures packages to a pallet or in a large box in an orderly fashion.
  • Assembles orders, product sets and/or kits.
  • If processing returns; opens packages and removes invoice/return form and merchandise.
  • If processing returns; scans or keys client order number or name, verifies customer name, address and order number.
  • If processing returns; inputs reason for return using parcel markings, customer notes and/or comments
  • If processing returns; uses independent judgment in determining a quality rating.
  • May inspect returned merchandise for quality, determines 1st, 2nd and damaged quality.
  • May sort returned merchandise by client and/or product SKU # and places product in designated location.
  • Return 1st quality merchandise back into inventory
  • Follows client requests for 2nd quality and damaged merchandise
  • May require working knowledge of the shipping system and specific functions needed to complete the job.
  • If shipping special requests, reviews request and work orders for specific shipping details or changes.
  • Assists in sorting product by ship method and stacks on pallet or places in shroud.
  • Assists, if necessary, with physical inventories
  • Achieves rates as set forth by manager, supervisor or lead.
  • Assists, if necessary, with training of temporary employees.
  • May act as a subject matter expert or trainer for a small cell of employees during peak periods
  • Complies with safety rules and regulations
  • Maintains clean work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Assists, when necessary, with other production and/or warehouse related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to read and understand label placement on retail shipments.
  • The ability to read and comprehend all necessary work transactions, including customer return notes if necessary.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with leads, supervisors and coworkers.
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Detail Oriented
  • Mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Basic computer skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical and mental requirements described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the principle or essential duties and responsibilities of this job.   • The ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, 8 or more hours.
  • The ability to use hands to pick up objects and operate tools or controls and reach with hands.
  • The ability to bend or stoop at knees or waist; twist at waist to retrieve item.
  • The ability to use written source of information to key data into system.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and team lifts parcels weighing more than 30 pounds
  • Activities requiring sustained concentration when performing data entry functions.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work is conducted in typical warehouse surroundings. Some moderately uncomfortable elements might be present such as heat, cold, dust. Work is fast paced and involves pressures of meeting delivery commitments and responding to changing priorities.
