What are 14 year old weekend jobs?

'14 year old weekend jobs' are part-time jobs that are suitable and legally permitted for teenagers who are 14 years old, typically scheduled during weekends when school is not in session. Examples include babysitting, pet sitting, yard work, newspaper delivery, and working at certain retail or food service establishments with restrictions. These jobs are designed to provide young teens with early work experience, responsibility, and extra spending money while ensuring their safety and compliance with local labor laws.

What types of jobs are commonly available for 14-year-olds on weekends, and what can I expect from these roles?

Fourteen-year-olds often find weekend work in roles such as babysitting, pet sitting, lawn care, delivering newspapers, or working in family-owned businesses. These jobs usually involve flexible hours and tasks that are manageable for younger teens, such as basic customer service, organizing, or light cleaning. It’s important to know that there are legal restrictions on the number of hours and types of work you can do at this age, so employers will often assign age-appropriate duties. Working weekends gives you a chance to gain early job experience, develop responsibility, and build useful skills for future employment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a 14-year-old weekend worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a 14-year-old weekend worker, you need reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn, often supported by obtaining a work permit if required by local laws. Basic familiarity with point-of-sale systems or cleaning equipment may be helpful depending on the specific job. Strong communication, punctuality, and teamwork help young workers stand out and earn trust. These skills are important because they ensure a safe, productive environment and help build a strong foundation for future employment.

Job description

A 14-year-old boy with autism needs 1:1 ABA therapy

Make a difference in his life - and in yours!

Hours/details:
Location (in client's home): Gilbert, AZ
Hours: Mon - Thu: 3:30 - 6:00 PM / Fri & Sat: 1:00 - 6:00 PM

BehaviorCare Therapy

Looking to pick up flexible part-time hours to supplement your current job or school schedule? This could be the perfect fit. We’re hiring Paraprofessionals to work with children on the autism spectrum in their homes during afternoon and evening hours.

As an RBT/BT at BehaviorCare Therapy, you’ll be working directly in the homes of families, providing 1-on-1 support to children with autism or developmental delays. Your job is to help them build daily living skills, communication, independence, and confidence — all through play-based ABA therapy designed by a licensed BCBA.

You’ll work with the same children consistently, helping them make real progress in their everyday environments — whether that’s helping a 3-year-old learn to request snacks or helping a 7-year-old stay focused through a morning routine.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your patience, energy, and creativity can make a lasting difference. Every child is unique, and you’ll get the training and support to meet them where they’re at.
Why This Role Might Be a Great Fit for You:
  • You're looking for extra income with part-time, afternoon/evening flexibility
  • You want to work 1:1 with kids and make a meaningful impact
  • You may already work in a school, clinic, or another therapy setting—and want to pick up more hours
We Offer:
  • Pay: $21–$26/hr based on experience
  • Flexible scheduling: tell us when you’re available, and we’ll match you with clients
  • Health, dental, vision, and group life insurance for those working 20+ hours/week
What You'll Do:
  • Work one-on-one with kids in their homes to help them learn and grow using play-based ABA techniques
  • Follow simple step-by-step treatment plans made by your supervisor (BCBA) — we’ll show you exactly what to do for each child
  • Track progress during each session using an easy data system on your phone or tablet (don’t worry — we train you how to do this)
  • Team up with your BCBA and fellow techs to keep things consistent and effective — you're never doing this alone
  • Give feedback to families about how the session went and celebrate small wins together!
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children (SPED Para, 1:1 Aide or Classroom Aide, after-school programs, caregiving, autism.)
  • ABA experience a plus!
  • Afternoon/evening availability (weekends a plus)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must pass a background check
About Us:

Whether you’re brand new to the field or a seasoned pro, you’ll feel like a valued part of a mission-driven team that’s passionate about making a difference — one kid, one session at a time.
