Job Description:
Sofidel America is a leading manufacturer of tissue products for domestic and hygienic use, committed to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Maintenance Superintendent to lead and oversee the daily maintenance operations of our production facility. This role is critical to ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and utility systems operate efficiently and reliably to support uninterrupted manufacturing. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all plant maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance
- Lead and supervise maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and development
- Manage and enforce safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Monitor equipment downtime and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to support operational goals and minimize disruptions
- Manage the maintenance budget and inventory of spare parts and critical supplies
- Maintain documentation related to maintenance records, inspections, and compliance
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Proven experience in a supervisory maintenance role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and maintenance safety best practices
- The role may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels is possible
- This position may require evening or weekend work to support production needs
