Job description

Tarrier Steel is a Drug Free Workplace. Candidates must complete a pre-hire drug screen prior to acceptance.

1st Shift is *typically *5:30 am - 4:00 pm, M-F.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, machinery, and building systems within a structural steel fabrication facility.

  • Perform all tasks correctly the first time, no shortcuts.
  • Take accountability for your work.
  • Fix errors immediately and without excuses.

Maintenance: Continuous Improvement

  • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC beam processing machines, overhead cranes, hydraulic shear and press brake, double column band saw, CNC plasma table, MIG welders, handheld plasma cutters and compressors.
  • Maintain shop vehicles such as F250, Telehandler 12k, Side loader 23k, and Forklifts.
  • Maintain facility systems such as lighting, switches, HVAC, network lines, etc.
  • Maintain the preventative maintenance log.
  • Suggest improvements to the management team.
  • Repair broken equipment as needed.
  • Replace items no longer serviceable.

Safety & Teamwork: Safety > Speed

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, welders, torches and grinders.
  • Work collaboratively with CNC operators, foremen, welders, fabricators, painters and QC personnel.
