Clients & Industries (C&I) is a channel within the Growth & Purpose (G&P) organization, focused on combining deep industry knowledge and strategy capabilities with client-service excellence to bring the depth and breadth of Deloitte's Industry Advantage to our clients and professionals. Enabling a world-class client experience that highlights our firm's expansive capabilities, C&I has two major components including Client Excellence and Industry (where this role is aligned). Providing significant elements of Deloitte's go-to-market strategy, C&I contributes to Firm growth and helps solve our client's most complex challenges, drives Industry and Sector strategy across our US businesses, and maximizes opportunities for firm growth.

The Industrial Products & Construction (IP&C) Sector Specialist role is focused on driving growth in the sector by supporting the National Sector Leader (NSL) and Business Sector Leaders (BSLs) in maximizing the impact of the integrated growth strategy. Some responsibilities of the role may adjust based on sector-specific needs; however, you will likely collaborate with sector leadership to:

  • Steer strategy and enhance business structure
  • Optimize our Client Portfolio [Advantaged Client Portfolio (ACP) and Emerging Client Portfolio (ECP)]
  • Develop insights and solutions
  • Build an external market presence
  • Lead and develop talent, driving purpose and inclusion
Work you'll do

In collaboration with the sector leadership team, the responsibilities of the IP&C Sector Specialist include:

STEER SECTOR STRATEGY AND ENHANCE BUSINESS STRUCTURE

  • Drive project management and development of the integrated sector strategy and relevant industry-shared agenda elements
  • Enable the integrated sector leadership team and the management processes that bring together the sector teams to execute a unified strategy
  • Evolve/enhance the sector structure to enable the integrated strategies
  • Partner with NSL in executing role and serve as an extension of the NSL

OPTIMIZE THE PORTFOLIO

  • Lead an integrated portfolio management approach to optimize the client portfolio (segmentation, resourcing, investments, profitability, and performance)
  • Drive integrated pipeline management across the sector
  • Support cross-pollination of success between account teams, elevating best practice programming, etc.
  • Support for strategic pursuits and accounts to ensure industry differentiation
  • Capitalize on strategic cross-sector convergence opportunities by enabling sector expertise and solutions at priority clients outside the sector

DEVELOP INSIGHTS AND SOLUTIONS

  • Deliver sector expertise around key trends and forces in collaboration with your respective Industry Center to shape the insights agenda
  • Drive development of sector eminence activities and enable the 'last mile of deployment' for thought leadership and eminence activities
  • Serve as sector liaison with cross-Business and sector offerings
  • Coordinate with DTTL to drive and manage global-related initiatives

BUILD EXTERNAL MARKET PRESENCE

  • Support sector leadership team's external strategy through the development of content and presentation
  • Create and maintain an external market presence through strategic relationships across the sector ecosystem (industry associations, alliance partnerships, analysts, clients and other industry influencers)
  • Deliver industry content to client executives at sector portfolio accounts, through active participation on pursuits, involvement in NSL's executive meetings, and active leadership at Deloitte-sponsored client events
  • Develop and prepare materials needed for sector eminence activities and client executive discussions in collaboration with Enabling Areas

LEAD AND DEVELOP TALENT, DRIVING PURPOSE AND INCLUSION

  • Build the sector talent community through cross-business communities (i.e., community building, industry forums, industry learning, cross-business networking)
  • Enable collaboration and teaming of the industry enabling teams (cross-business, marketing, PR, learning, KX, CAM, CRE)
  • Champion inclusive behaviors
  • Support Industry Learning and Development lead to identify sector training needs and build and deliver learning programs
  • Identify and support future client leaders. Partner with NSL and Client Excellence leader to manage the succession process, ensuring effective due diligence and tracking in firm
Basic Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong view and passion for the IP&C sector and its future; desire to help shape the IP&C sector
  • Ability to lead and execute programs and initiatives
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills
  • Agility to work across multiple initiatives
  • Ability to build collaborative teams across the Firm matrix
  • Followership with key industry / sector stakeholders (ILs, BSLs, LCSPs, )
  • Track record of high performance
  • Innovative and creative thinking
  • Proven leadership, teaming, and firm navigation skills
  • Strong analytical, research and project management skills
  • Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level writing experience

  • Ability to manage confidential data (market, personnel, ) with high level of discretion
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113100 - $232300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
