Job Summary
We are currently seeking a
part-time Sourcing Specialist. This position is a remote opportunity located in
Columbus, OH.
This role is responsible for procuring services and materials of low to moderate complexity and risk to the business unit. Work consists of routine and repetitive functions performed under supervision, including handling standard purchase orders and related documentation in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures and applicable government laws and regulations.
The selected candidate will ensure fair and reasonable pricing and prompt delivery from responsible suppliers within a competitive environment, while coordinating activities and supporting team members as needed.
Responsibilities
As a Sourcing Specialist the selected individual will support procurement operations across a range of purchasing and contracting activities. Responsibilities may include:
- Issue RFX documents to obtain proposals and quotes for standard products and services in support of business initiatives and ongoing projects, actively seeking and promoting competition in the acquisition of goods and services
- Review and evaluate vendor proposals and quotes to ensure fair and reasonable pricing and compliance with procurement requirements; assist in the review of more complex solicitations and help prepare routine responses for proposals, bids, and renewals
- Negotiate, review, and administer low to moderate complexity procurements for assigned commodities in support of company goals and objectives
- Under the direction of senior procurement staff, analyze procurement requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions, and contract flow-downs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Battelle policies
- Prepare, organize, maintain procurement records and file documentation in audit-ready condition; identify basic compliance issues and provide recommended solutions for approval by higher-level staff or management
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Knowledge of business principles in areas such as supply chain management, purchasing, business and contracts law, finance, accounting, and standard operating procedures
- Strong analytical and communication skills; with assistance, able to execute basic purchasing responsibilities and resolve problems of low to moderate complexity with suppliers and supported client staff
- Ability to draft simple contractual documents in accordance with prescribed templates and guidelines
- Must be US Person by definition of US export laws.
Compensation Data
Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $25-35/hourly, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
