Job description

HR Generalist

We are looking to add a talented Human Resources Generalist to assist HR Director in different areas such as but not limited to include recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, and the execution of employee relation activities to provide each department with guidance and support necessary to achieve their business objectives. A background in Human Resources and/or recruiting is needed. As a small team, we are looking for someone that is a go-getter and willing to step in to help with other projects as needed.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in multiple states.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and provide data to the Finance department for general ledger entry.
  • Responsible for payroll compliance and employment tax filings.
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment, including plan communication and system updates.
  • Assist knowledge of company health and financial wellness programs.
  • Subject matter expert for employee benefit programs and act as additional liaison with insurance brokers.
  • Assists HR Director in different areas such as but not limited to include recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, and the execution of employee relation activities in order to provide each department with guidance and support necessary to achieve their business objectives.
  • Assist in recruitment and screening of resumes.
  • Onboarding of new employees (Orientation, new hire paperwork,
  • welcome tour, I-9 verifications), Orientation, training, and employees HR transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as state, federal, and local laws and regulations and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education amp; Experience

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years Human Resources experience

Qualifications

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that build trust and instill confidence.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial, can operate resourcefully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized and diligent, attention to detail and follow through.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office, HR Informational Systems (Paycor a plus)
  • Knowledge of EEOC, ADA and employment laws.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet and work effectively under time and resource constraints.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.
  • Ability to connect deeply with people, maintain trust, and navigate sensitive issues with colleagues.
  • Ability to effectively deal with department heads and team members, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
