Job description

Who We Are

We are a small space technology company, working to design and deliver components for the next generation of lunar rovers. Collaborating closely with our sister companies throughout Europe we are leveraging our automotive and motorsports experience to provide cutting edge electric vehicle technology to the space sector.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Assembly Technician to support the manufacturing and integration of precision aerospace and spaceflight hardware. This role involves hands-on assembly of Electro-mechanical systems, with a primary focus on wire harness fabrication, cable routing, and soldering of electrical components. This position will also support the installation of bolted and welded structures, in a controlled environment, while adhering to strict quality and documentation standards.

The ideal candidate thrives in a detail-oriented environment, takes pride in precision workmanship, and is comfortable working within regulated quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical assembly of aerospace components and subsystems
  • Build, route, terminate, and inspect wire harnesses and cable assemblies to engineering drawings and schematics
  • Execute hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components in accordance with industry standards
  • Interpret and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Complete and maintain production travelers, inspection records, and build documentation
  • Perform in-process inspections and support final quality checks
  • Ensure compliance with ESD, FOD, and cleanliness requirements
  • Identify and report non-conformances, and support root cause and corrective action efforts
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes and documentation
  • Maintain cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning, contamination control, and tool cleanliness
  • Maintain tools, workstations, and materials in accordance with company and industry standards

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on assembly experience in aerospace, space, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing
  • Experience with:
    • Wire harness assembly and cable routing
    • Crimping, stripping, and connector termination
    • Hand soldering (fine-pitch and/or microelectronics preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Engineering drawings and schematics
    • Wiring diagrams and harness boards
  • Experience working within a quality management system (QMS) such as ISO 9001 or AS9100
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and workmanship criteria
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and traceability
  • Familiarity with aerospace-quality documentation and traceability practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a controlled, process-driven environment
  • Comfortable working in an early-stage, evolving production setting with changing priorities

Preferred

  • Experience assembling lithium-ion battery packs or similar energy storage systems
  • Familiarity with:
    • Cell handling, tab welding or interconnect attachment (spot welding, ultrasonic, or mechanical methods)
    • Electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, basic functional checks)
  • Experience with ESD-sensitive hardware and controls
  • Basic understanding of welding processes (TIG/MIG) and inspection criteria
  • Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and composite materials
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems for build tracking and traceability
  • Experience contributing to process development in a startup or R&D environment
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment (ISO Class 7 or 8 preferred)
  • Experience supporting prototype and low-volume production builds
  • Certifications:
    • NASA-STD-8739 series
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620
    • IPC-A-610
    • J-STD-001
    • ESD Certification (ANSI/ESD S20.20 awareness or training)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
  • High manual dexterity for precision assembly work
  • Vision sufficient for fine detail work and inspection (corrected vision acceptable)

  • Full-time work in an ISO 8 cleanroom (gowning required)
  • Strict adherence to contamination control, ESD, and safety protocols
  • Use of PPE including cleanroom garments, gloves, and safety glasses
