Description:
The United Planning Organization is the officially designated Community Action Agency for the District of Columbia. Its purpose is to provide leadership, support and advocacy to advance low income and other eligible residents of Washington, D.C., to assist them in achieving self-sufficiency and self-determination, and to enhance generally the quality of life in the local community.
Commission membership:
The Board shall consist of 17 members, 6 of which are Mayoral appointees.
