About Us

We are an intimate counter dining experience rooted in the traditions of Japanese and French cuisine. Our kitchen is a place where precision, craftsmanship, and creativity converge. Every dish is thoughtfully composed, and every guest interaction is intentional. We are a small, dedicated team that holds ourselves to an exceptionally high standard, and we are looking for a Pastry Chef who shares that commitment.

The Role

The Pastry Chef leads all aspects of our pastry program in close collaboration with the Chef. This is a working leadership position you will be present in daily production while setting the creative direction for plated desserts, viennoiserie, and confections for service. You bring both a strong technical foundation and a genuine creative voice, with the understanding that all menu offerings are developed in alignment with the restaurantโ€™s culinary vision.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a seasonally driven pastry menu, including plated desserts, laminated doughs, and viennoiserie.
  • Manage all departmental operations: purchasing, inventory control, recipe standardization, and food costing
  • Collaborate with the Chef/Owner on seasonal menu development, research and development, and long-term strategic planning
  • Source high-quality, seasonal ingredients and manage relationships with purveyors and vendors
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning across all pastry offerings
  • Coordinate closely with the service team to ensure seamless service execution
  • Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards (HACCP)
  • Foster a kitchen culture built on discipline, creativity, and mutual respect

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef in a fine dining or high-volume establishment
  • Deep knowledge of advanced pastry techniques, contemporary dessert composition, and ingredient functionality
  • Experience maintaining a bread program and accommodating dietary restrictions in a fine dining context preferred
  • Formal culinary education or equivalent professional training preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Food handler/safety certification required
