Job description

*Location: St. Paris, OH (up to 12 months) | Salt Lake City, UT (permanent)*

As the Continuous Improvement Engineer at tru fru, you will be a critical driver of operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. You will own the technology management of primary manufacturing systems, establish work standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and build long-term associate capability. Partnering closely with Production Leaders, you will bring both analytical rigor and people-first coaching to everything you do.

What you'll do

  • Own all Daily Management Systems (DMS) execution, including Changeover, Centerlines, Clean/Inspect/Lubricate, and Abnormality Handling.
  • Analyze unplanned technical losses across the value stream and develop 90-day action plans to drive loss elimination and build associate capability.
  • Lead Autonomous Maintenance process improvement efforts focused on reducing downtime and eliminating recurring losses.
  • Provide technical continuity for complex and ongoing issues within the value stream, including preventative follow-up on all technical breakdowns.
  • Champion MSE Autonomous Maintenance deployment and uphold all Safety and Quality standards within your area.
  • Coach operations and value stream teams on ways of working to ensure maintenance and operational processes are consistently followed.
  • Assist Production Leaders in managing team performance through coaching, skills development, and structured feedback.
  • Provide direction and development support to Continuous Improvement Specialists, including performance evaluations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on performance data to surface insights and support data-driven decision-making.

What you'll bring to tru fru

You are...

  • A natural leader who can motivate, coach, and develop teams across all levels of a manufacturing environment.
  • An analytical problem-solver who uses data to drive meaningful, lasting change.
  • Comfortable leading in ambiguity and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • A clear communicator who translates technical complexity into actionable direction.
  • Committed to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement as a way of working, not just a project.

You have...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a technical field, and/or 5+ years of experience in TPM/MSE or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and driving change across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong proficiency in analytical and problem-solving methodologies using data-driven insights.
  • Experience coaching and developing others in a manufacturing or operations setting.

Pluses

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Power BI including dashboard creation and data analysis.
