Job description

Job Summary:
ShiftCode Analytics, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer for a 9+ month contract with a public sector client in Long Beach, CA. The role involves leading and managing critical network projects, optimizing network infrastructure, and ensuring security compliance across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead multiple network projects by providing strategic oversight and technical guidance from design through implementation and troubleshooting.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco network equipment, including switches, routers, and voice systems.
• Implement, maintain, and optimize modern UTM solutions and next-generation firewall appliances to safeguard network integrity and data security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with organizational objectives and best practices.
• Develop, document, and enforce network policies and procedures that promote operational excellence and security compliance.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior network staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Extensive background in Cisco switching, routing, and voice systems.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale network projects and leading technical teams.
• Hands-on expertise with modern UTM systems and next-generation firewall/security appliances.
• Hands-on expertise with Network Access Control (NAC) systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE) is highly desirable
• Relevant certifications in UTM or next-generation firewall technologies is desirable
