Job description

Eaton's IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Assembler - A 2nd Shift at our Los Angeles, CA plant. With almost 300 employees, the Los Angeles facility designs and manufactures quality valves, regulators, and other fluid controls used mostly by the Aerospace Industry.This is a 2nd shift position, with core hours between 1:45pm - 10:15pm.
The hourly rate for this position is $23.81 plus $2 shift differential per hour.

What you'll do:
Assemble routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and final assemblies of simple to moderate complexity product line that includes but is not limited to commercial parts for customer such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus.
In this function you will:
  • Perform lock wire/safety wire, nameplate, assembly of mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. Ensure activities are performed correctly and proper tooling and documentation is used.
  • Material preparation including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
  • Interpret blueprints, verbal, and/or written instructions
  • Work with others to complete assemblies
  • Perform visual inspection and identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures
  • Perform cross training when required.
  • Must have the ability to utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers and dial indicators.
  • Adhere to operational procedures and ensure tooling is in calibration before use.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area. Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned. May be temporarily reassigned to cover workload in other areas of production as necessary.
  • Overtime is required to meet business needs, and you may be required to work overtime as requested.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA facility will be considered for this position. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
Preferred:
• Some prior assembly experience
• Prior assembly experience in aerospace industry
Position Criteria:
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to work from written and verbal instructions
• Understanding of blueprints
• Computer proficiency
• Attention to detail
• Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
