Job description
Job Description:
The Business Development Representative role has the responsibility of introducing, developing, and representing the WorldStrides travel brands (WorldStrides, Brightspark and Explorica) to schools across Canada. We are looking for individuals passionate about travel to sell and depart experiential tours to Teachers, Parents, and Students in your designated territory. The primary measurement of success for this role will be new client creation and year over year growth in overall bookings. Candidates should be eager to advance within the organization by being a self-starter who brings energy and enthusiasm every day. The Business Development Representative works within a regional sales team and reports directly to the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities:
- The Business Development Representative prospects new and competition clients and accounts to meet and exceed goals by making cold calls, virtual and in-person sales calls, and converting potential sales leads.
- Attends and presents trip information to parents and students at parent information evenings
- Introduce and promote destinations or tours to new/competition customers to grow territory and existing client base.
- Responsible for spending sufficient call time to ensure a robust sales funnel of leads and prospects to achieve or exceed established sales goals. Through self-motivation and determination ensures that established sales goals are met or exceeded
- Attend weekly sales meetings, as well as in-person office days 2x per week
- Utilizes department technology to consistently maintain a detailed, organized, and thorough database of a predetermined number of teachers, including cold, warm and active leads
- Manages and takes responsibility for the entire sales process until groups are ready to be transitioned to their respective Account Manager. Works with teachers to set enrollment deadlines for students and all necessary documentation such as insurance, liability, school board approval documents, and any and all pertinent information to ensure pre-departure success.
- Actively seeks continuous skill development and improvement to improve performance. Educates self on all related tours and WorldStrides products. Comprehends the student travel industry with an interest to learn more regarding our competition as it compares to WorldStrides business models
Qualifications:
- University degree or diploma
- 1-2 years' proven sales experience
- A valid Driver's License and Passport
- Detail and process focused
- Possesses a strong work ethic
- Strong presentation skills
- Advanced time management skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient with Microsoft products and CRM tools
- Knowledge of Travel Industry
- Demonstrated Ability to drive new sales
- Experience within a travel agency, educational institution or related industry/environment
- Bilingual in French would be an asset
