Responsibilities

• Install water, sewer, and storm drain pipe according to project plans and specifications.
• Grade trenches and prepare pipe bedding materials.
• Align and connect pipe sections using proper installation methods.
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grades, and utility layouts.
• Assist with trench safety and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
• Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, and foremen to complete projects efficiently.
• Install fittings, valves, manholes, catch basins, and related utility structures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean job site.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a utility pipelayer, pipe crew member, or underground utility worker preferred.
• Knowledge of water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Ability to read construction drawings and grades.
• Understanding of trench safety requirements and underground utility installation practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite and strong attendance record.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
