Accounting ManagerAbout the Role

As the Accounting Manager, you will be a pivotal leader, overseeing and optimizing our comprehensive accounting operations. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining compliance, and driving the efficiency of our accounting systems and procedures, directly contributing to our financial health and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, assigning and auditing work to ensure the robust development and maintenance of generally accepted accounting systems.

  • Oversee and streamline core accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, payroll processing, general ledger management, and inventory control.

  • Manage the entire financial statement preparation process, including comprehensive month-end and quarterly closings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Monitor and meticulously review all records pertaining to assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions to uphold data integrity.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the company, external auditors (for annual financial and 401K audits), government bodies, and clients, facilitating information exchange and compliance.

  • Execute advanced accounting procedures, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, inventory roll-forwards, fixed asset tracking, and margin analysis, with meticulous preparation of supporting schedules for financial statements.

  • Proactively manage customer accounts by addressing past-due invoices and providing timely, detailed weekly status updates to senior management.

  • Ensure that all active projects are underpinned by valid and legally binding contracts, mitigating financial and operational risks.

  • Conduct thorough reviews, analyses, and reconciliations of general ledger accounts and investment transactions, preparing insightful quarterly reports for senior leadership.

  • Perform in-depth monthly operational analyses, providing critical insights for performance improvement and strategic planning.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within public accounting or a similar dynamic environment.

  • Thorough and demonstrable knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) and their practical application.

  • Proven strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a track record of team development and motivation.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of dissecting complex financial data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions) and Word, along with strong aptitude for applicable accounting enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is highly desirable.

  • Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability in mentoring, coaching, and developing accounting staff.
