Work Environment

This position is designed for a remote work setting that allows flexibility while maintaining the core responsibility of providing mental health support. You will connect with clients through secure telehealth platforms and have the option to occasionally meet clients in-person at our Newark outpatient facility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and thorough evaluations to tailor individualized treatment plans for clients, ensuring that each client receives the care suited to their specific needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused short therapy, adapting methods to fit individual and group contexts.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for participants to share their experiences while also guiding family and couples therapy when necessary.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, complying with legal and ethical standards while ensuring client confidentiality.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops, training, and continued education to enhance your therapeutic skills and keep abreast of advancements in mental health research.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Wellspring of Life, the clients we serve often come from underrepresented communities, facing barriers to mental health services. Your role as a counselor will involve working with a varied clientele, including individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance misuse, and relational challenges. Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
• A minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably in a clinical environment that demonstrates your ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards within the mental health field to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to establish rapport with clients from various backgrounds.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and related technology to manage health records efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-focused therapy, or substance misuse treatment is highly preferred.
• Experience working within an outpatient setting, particularly with clients facing social and economic barriers to accessing care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload.
