WATTS CONSTRUCTION: CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR — Self Performing / Lead Estimator

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator who is confident working independently as well as with a team from start to finish — including quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid development, and presentation of proposals to owners and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, performs well in pre-bid walkthroughs, and is comfortable representing the company during interviews and proposal meetings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the full estimating process for assigned projects for the full lifecycle of preconstruction, from concept through final bid
  • Interpret the construction plans, specifications
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and cost analysis
  • Review subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope alignment
  • Prepare bid schedules, clarifications, and value engineering options
  • Bid-Day Management & Submission, direct bid day operations, clarifications, last minute scope gap closure and final risk/margin decisions
  • Coordinate with operations and project management teams during handoff
  • Maintain estimating database, historical pricing, and cost benchmarking

Attend and Represent the Company:
  • Pre-bid site visits & walkthroughs
  • Owner presentations & interviews
  • Pre-construction meetings
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Networking and building relationships with trade partners.
  • Collaboration with Owners, Architects, Engineers and Project Managers

Required Experience & Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Construction Estimator (commercial construction preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
  • Design Build
