We think social media can be more social.

Wapoo is building a new kind of social app around playable video, friends, and co-creation — where people don’t just watch content, they jump in and shape it together.

Facebook started on the East Coast. Snapchat, Instagram, and many of the biggest consumer social products came from California.

We believe the next one can come from the Midwest.

Our team has deep experience building and scaling global consumer social products, and we’re starting our next chapter on college campuses across Michigan and Ohio — including The Ohio State University.

We’re looking for a Campus Growth Intern in Columbus who wants to help build Wapoo from the ground up at Ohio State.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work directly with the founding team on how Wapoo grows at Ohio State.

This is much more than posting flyers or running a booth. You’ll help figure out how a new social product actually becomes part of campus culture.

You will:

• Build relationships across different communities at Ohio State — including freshmen, fraternities and sororities, student organizations, athletes, creators, and other highly connected groups.
• Design and execute creative campus growth experiments, both online and offline.
• Identify the people, communities, events, and moments that can make Wapoo spread naturally across campus.
• Recruit and manage early users, creators, and campus collaborators.
• Develop ideas around football season, tailgates, game days, rivalry culture, orientation, rush, and other major campus moments.
• Talk constantly with students, understand how they actually use the product, and bring those insights directly back to the team.
• Test new product ideas and help us understand what makes students invite friends, create together, and come back.
• Track what is working, what isn’t, and help us iterate quickly.

You’ll have real ownership. If you see an opportunity, we expect you to pursue it.

Who We’re Looking For

You should be:

• Currently enrolled at The Ohio State University.
• Deeply familiar with Ohio State campus culture and how students actually socialize.
• Highly social, resourceful, and comfortable reaching out to people you don’t know.
• Someone who understands Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, campus creators, group chats, and how things spread among students.
• Excited by consumer apps, social products, culture, media, or startups.
• Comfortable operating without a playbook and figuring things out from zero.
• Full of ideas — and willing to test them instead of just talking about them.
• Able to move fast, take ownership, and work closely with an early-stage team.

Existing connections across Greek life, student organizations, athletics, creators, or other major campus communities are a strong plus.

Compensation

$20–$25/hour

Paid internship. Based in Columbus, Ohio, with substantial on-campus work.
