Walker & Armstrong LLP has been providing audit, attest, tax, accounting, and consulting services to our clients for 50 years. We service a wide variety of industries and entities including nonprofit and governmental entities, privately-held businesses, and individuals. The Firm is a licensed Certified Public Accounting firm with offices located in Phoenix, Tucson and Carefree, Arizona.
We are seeking a Tax Senior to join our growing tax team. In this role, you will prepare and review complex tax returns, mentor staff, and work closely with clients to deliver high-quality tax services. This position provides an opportunity to expand technical expertise while contributing to the growth of the firm and supporting a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, and nonprofit tax returns.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of staff-prepared returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues and provide guidance to clients and team members.
  • Assist in tax planning and advisory services for clients.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and partners to identify process improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting (experience with individuals, partnerships, corporations, and nonprofits preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and tax preparation software.
  • Proven ability to review and supervise staff-prepared work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and a team-oriented mindset.
