Institutional Investor Relations & Fundraising — Venture Capital

New York, NY | On-site

About the Firm

We are representing an established venture investment firm investing from early stage through later-stage growth across some of the most ambitious areas of technology and science.

The firm invests across artificial intelligence, software infrastructure, robotics, energy, space technology, life sciences, and other high-growth sectors. It operates with a lean, high-performing team and maintains relationships with sophisticated institutional investors.

The firm is looking to add an Investor Relations professional who can help deepen existing LP relationships, expand the institutional investor network, and support fundraising, co-investments, SPVs, and investor communications.

The Role

This is an institutional investor relations and fundraising role for someone who wants to build their career in capital formation within venture capital.

You will work directly with existing and prospective limited partners, including institutional investors such as endowments, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, and other large asset owners.

The role combines:

  • Institutional LP relationship management
  • Fundraising and capital formation
  • Prospective investor development
  • Investor reporting and communications
  • Co-investment and SPV execution
  • Investor CRM ownership
  • Close collaboration with the investment team

You will have significant exposure to the firm's investment activity and portfolio, but the core mandate is investor relations and fundraising rather than investment research, underwriting, or deal sourcing.

This is best suited to someone who enjoys building long-term institutional relationships, can operate with a high degree of organization and ownership, and is comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving investment environment.

What You'll DoInstitutional LP Relationship Management
  • Manage ongoing relationships and communications with existing institutional LPs.
  • Develop trusted relationships with investors across endowments, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, and other institutional allocators.
  • Coordinate investor requests, follow-ups, meetings, diligence materials, and ongoing communications.
  • Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism across the firm's LP base.
Fundraising & Capital Formation
  • Support and execute fundraising initiatives across existing and prospective institutional investors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new institutional LP prospects.
  • Help manage the fundraising pipeline from initial outreach through diligence, relationship development, and closing.
  • Prepare investor materials and information required throughout fundraising processes.
  • Track investor engagement, next steps, and relationship development systematically.
Investor Reporting & Communications
  • Prepare portfolio, fund, and investment updates for existing LPs.
  • Coordinate relevant investment information, performance materials, and investor communications.
  • Work closely with the investment team to translate investment activity into clear, accurate, investor-ready materials.
  • Help ensure communications with LPs remain organized, consistent, and high quality.
Co-Investments & SPVs
  • Support significant co-investment and special-purpose vehicle opportunities involving existing and prospective LPs.
  • Prepare and coordinate materials related to co-investment opportunities.
  • Support financial modelling and analysis associated with co-investment and SPV transactions.
  • Manage investor communication and execution workflows around these opportunities.
  • Coordinate internally with the investment team throughout relevant transactions.
Investor CRM & Process Ownership
  • Maintain accurate investor information, relationship history, activity, and follow-ups within the firm's CRM.
  • Help develop and improve CRM processes for investor tracking and fundraising management.
  • Build reliable internal systems that ensure investor activity, communications, and next steps are consistently captured.
  • Help strengthen the overall operating infrastructure of the investor relations function.
Required Experience

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in institutional investor relations, fundraising, capital formation, or a placement-agent role.
  • Direct experience managing, developing, or fundraising from institutional LPs.
  • Experience working with investors such as endowments, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, or comparable institutional asset owners.
  • Experience preparing investor, portfolio, fund, or investment updates for LPs.
  • Experience using and maintaining an investor CRM or fundraising relationship-management system.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including experience relevant to co-investments and/or SPV transactions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple investor relationships and workstreams simultaneously.
  • Confidence communicating with sophisticated institutional investors.
  • A proactive, ownership-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment without requiring extensive structure or layers of management.
Preferential consideration if you have the following:
  • Top-tier venture capital, growth equity, or private equity firms
  • Institutional fundraising or placement-agent platforms
  • Bulge-bracket investment banks
  • Elite-boutique investment banks
  • Top-tier management consulting firms
  • Other highly selective investment or advisory environments with meaningful institutional investor exposure

You can demonstrate the following:

  • Existing relationships with institutional LP allocators.
  • A track record of helping raise capital from pensions, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, foundations, or similar institutions.
  • Experience independently managing important LP relationships.
  • Direct involvement in co-investment and SPV processes.
  • Strong financial modelling capability around co-investments or special-purpose investment structures.
  • Experience building, improving, or owning an investor CRM.
  • A track record of producing high-quality LP updates and fundraising materials.
  • Evidence of succeeding in a lean environment with significant individual responsibility.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
This position is specifically designed for someone who wants to build a career in institutional investor relations, fundraising, and capital formation within venture capital.

It is not an investment research, underwriting, portfolio-selection, or deal-sourcing role.

Why Join
  • Develop and manage relationships with sophisticated investors across the institutional allocator community.
  • Play a direct role in capital formation rather than operating solely as an administrative support function.
  • Work across fundraising, investor communications, relationship management, co-investments, SPVs, and IR infrastructure.
  • Work alongside investment professionals and gain visibility into portfolio activity while remaining firmly focused on the investor-relations mandate.
  • Significant Transactions
  • Participate in meaningful co-investment and special-purpose investment opportunities alongside institutional LPs.
  • High-Growth Investment Exposure
  • Work around companies operating across artificial intelligence, software infrastructure, robotics, energy, space technology, life sciences, and other innovation-driven sectors.
  • Long-Term Capital Formation Career
  • Build deeper expertise and relationships across institutional fundraising, LP management, private markets, and venture capital.
