Role Description The Automation Install Helper is a full-time, on-site role based in Clarksville, TN. This role supports the installation and commissioning of building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, access control, surveillance, and utility monitoring equipment. Day-to-day tasks include assisting senior technicians with mounting and wiring devices, pulling and labeling cable, configuring field hardware under supervision, and following installation drawings and project documentation. The Automation Install Helper helps gather material and stage for install, assist senior installers in mounting devices, pulling and terminating cables. Maintain tools and materials, and adheres to all safety procedures and site protocols. The role may also involve coordinating with other trades on-site, documenting completed work, and supporting ongoing system upgrades or maintenance as needed.


Qualifications

  • Hands-on skills with tools used for installation (e.g., drills, testers, crimpers) and comfort working in commercial building and construction environments.
  • Understanding of building automation or controls concepts (HVAC, lighting, access control, surveillance, or utility monitoring) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to follow technical instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technicians, engineers, and site personnel.
  • Commitment to safety standards, including PPE use and adherence to company and site safety policies.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and systems; ability to adapt to changing project needs and schedules.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in electrical, HVAC, or low-voltage systems is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Nashville and Clarksville, TN
  • Ability to stand, climb ladders, and lift moderate loads for extended periods in various environmental conditions.
