Unarmed Safety Officer at Valor Protection Security Agency (VPSA)

Position Details
  • Shift: PM (5:00 PM - 12:00 AM availability required)
  • Schedule: Must be available to work at least two weekends per month.
  • Starting Pay: $16 per hour

Core Responsibilities for Safety Officer Position

Conduct Safety Inspections and Audits

  1. Perform regular inspections to identify potential hazards or safety violations.
  2. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, local laws).
  3. Document and report inspection findings.

Develop and Implement Safety Policies

  1. Create and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  2. Update safety manuals and ensure accessibility to employees.
  3. Design and implement emergency response plans.

Risk Assessment and Hazard Mitigation

  1. Identify risks and assess their severity.
  2. Recommend and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
  3. Monitor the effectiveness of safety measures.

Training and Education

  1. Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees.
  2. Provide education on the use of safety equipment and practices.
  3. Maintain training records and ensure certifications are up to date.

Incident Response and Investigation

  1. Respond to accidents, injuries, or emergency situations promptly.
  2. Investigate the root causes of incidents and create detailed reports.
  3. Recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain Safety Equipment

  1. Ensure that all safety equipment is in working condition and accessible.
  2. Conduct regular checks and maintenance of items like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and PPE.
  3. Oversee the inventory and procurement of safety supplies.

Compliance Monitoring

  1. Stay updated on federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  2. Ensure organizational practices align with current legal standards.
  3. Collaborate with regulatory bodies during audits or inspections.

Promote a Safety Culture

  1. Advocate for safety awareness among employees.
  2. Lead by example to encourage adherence to safety practices.
  3. Recognize and reward safe behaviors.

Coordinate Emergency Drills

  1. Organize and execute fire, evacuation, or active shooter drills.
  2. Evaluate drill outcomes and improve response plans as needed.

Documentation and Reporting

  1. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  2. Provide regular safety performance reports to management.
  3. Document and track safety concerns raised by employees.
