Purpose of the Role

The Buyer plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing operation and business objectives by ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This role helps maintain strong supplier partnerships, supports company quality standards, and contributes directly to operational efficiency and cost management.


Main Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with operations to ensure materials are aligned with forecasted demand, production schedules, and overall business objectives.

Analyze inventory levels, usage trends, and forecasts to proactively manage supply needs.

Purchase and expedite materials and services to support manufacturing and business plans.

Communicate and manage supplier relationships and commitments.

Track and update order status, ensuring timely delivery and addressing delays.

Research and select vendors, negotiate rates, and coordinate deliveries.

Monitor and evaluate supplier performance for cost, quality, and service.

Support cost reduction goals and maintain favorable pricing metrics.

Uphold company quality standards and handle urgent procurement needs.



Requirements

Key Skills and Qualifications

2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required. 

Bachelor's degree or purchasing certification preferred.

Knowledge of purchasing procedures and computer-based inventory systems.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with electronic and electromechanical components is preferred.

Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and internal teams.

Proficiency with Excel (V-lookup, Pivot Tables) required.
