Work Environment

The successful candidate will work primarily within our modern hospital facility in Hartford, which is designed to be patient-friendly and conducive to effective teamwork. Our healthcare team operates in a supportive atmosphere, emphasizing continuous improvement and professional development. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 8 PM, with weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM, requiring some on-call availability.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant at Unity Health Care LLC, you will:

• Conduct thorough assessments, diagnoses, and treatments of patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions.
• Collaborate closely with a designated supervising physician to ensure high-quality care for patients with both chronic and acute health issues.
• Educate patients and their families on preventive healthcare strategies, medical conditions, and prescribed treatments.
• Perform minor procedures, including sutures, casting, and splinting, while being adept at reading EKGs and X-rays.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records, documenting evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans using the EMR system.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as necessary, facilitating timely and effective patient management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role involves providing care to a diverse range of patients, from children to the elderly, ensuring that each patient receives tailored treatment that addresses their unique healthcare needs. Your ability to recognize acute conditions promptly will play a vital role in directing patients to advanced care when necessary, directly impacting patient outcomes and safety.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree as a Physician Assistant from an accredited institution.
• A valid State License to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting.
• Demonstrable experience treating both adult and pediatric patient populations.
• Proficiency in conducting minor medical procedures and reading diagnostic tests.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates will also possess experience in managing acute medical conditions, strong clinical assessment skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
