UWL emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and timely service while maintaining a patient‑focused and team‑oriented work environment. Our organization values integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and we strive to support both patient care and operational excellence across all functions.

The Ideal Candidate
United WestLabs is seeking a detail‑oriented, organized, and patient‑focused professional who thrives in a fast‑paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to accuracy, professionalism in all interactions, and a commitment to supporting compliant and efficient operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer and respond to incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Review, complete, and verify all requisitions to ensure accuracy and completeness of demographic, patient, insurance, diagnostic, and other required information; maintain copies of completed requisitions.
  • Track and follow up on incomplete requisitions sent to the billing office to ensure timely completion and documentation.
  • Contact patients as needed to obtain missing forms or required information to complete records.
  • Copy and forward all payments and financial documentation—including EOBs, RAs, Medicare payments, checks, and credit card transactions—to the billing office in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile the hospital admission roster with UWL’s billing roster to ensure compliance with the 72‑hour rule.
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, transport, and deliver laboratory specimens, paperwork, and supplies between United WestLabs locations, clinics, and other designated locations in a timely and secure manner.
  • Verify specimen integrity and documentation accuracy prior to transport and upon delivery.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, HIPAA, and biohazard handling standards during all courier activities.
  • Follow established delivery routes and schedules while adapting to priority or stat requests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate courier logs, delivery records, and mileage documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, medical offices, and leadership regarding delays, issues, or special handling requirements.
  • Represent United WestLabs in a professional and courteous manner while interacting with patients, providers, and external partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic record systems.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and strong customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
  • Evaluative and interpretive skills with the ability to manage sensitive information accurately.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced and changing work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Ability to walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Ability to perform intermittent bending, squatting, and climbing.
  • Ability to perform simple grasping functions with both hands.
Pre‑Employment and Employment Requirements

Employment with United WestLabs is contingent upon the successful completion of applicable pre‑employment screenings, conducted in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.  Candidates must meet all job‑related requirements, including maintaining acceptable driving standards where driving is an essential function of the role.

These requirements may include, but are not limited to:
