Unified Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Primary Care team in Cortland, New York. Work Environment

This full-time position requires on-site work, allowing you to engage directly with our diverse patient population. You will work a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, including evenings until 5:00 PM. This structured workweek ensures you have a balance between your professional responsibilities and personal life. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and analyze patients' medical histories to identify health issues.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests, X-rays, and other imaging studies, to formulate accurate diagnoses.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, devising treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens while monitoring patient progress and side effects.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with legal and health care regulations.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and preventive care strategies.
• Promote healthy lifestyle practices and disease prevention, engaging patients in their healthcare journey.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and research initiatives to stay current in best practices and medical advancements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will involve engaging with a diverse patient demographic commonly facing conditions associated with primary care, including chronic diseases, acute injuries, and general health concerns. As part of a collaborative approach, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care for our patients, contributing positively to their overall healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies is required, with a current California State Physician Assistant license and PA-C certification.
• A valid DEA number to write prescriptions.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant in a clinical, hospital, or urgent care setting.
• Strong expertise in primary care, acute care, and chronic disease management.
• In-depth knowledge of health regulations and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
• A strong ethical framework and commitment to patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse healthcare team.
• Patience, strong problem-solving skills, and the capability to remain calm under pressure.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience is required, candidates with additional specialties in areas such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, or family health will be viewed favorably. Compensation and Benefits

Unified Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include:
