Job description

Position Summary

Under supervision of the University Hospitals Trust (UHT), provides event support for all events in UHT facilities, to include concierge support for all meetings, basic audio-visual support, event table/chair set up, along with moving furniture. Responsible for general assistance and support to all Conference Services guests. Assists the Director of Conference Services and Facilities Coordinator as needed.

Two (2) years, experience in support services, substituting one (1) year of experience for each year of required education.

Examples of Work Performed

Transports all audio-visual equipment, tables, chairs, linens and any materials necessary for meetings or events in UHAT facilities.

Assists in the set-up of any required meeting or event in the UHAT facility.

Provides concierge level support to clients and guests at the center - before and after - every event. Removes and transports all equipment and materials to storage at conclusion of meeting or event. Provides basic audio-visual support to every meeting, including basic troubleshooting.

Conducts basic EVS (housekeeping) clean-up to ensure the space is ready for the next event, if needed. Maintains accurate inventory of all equipment and materials. Provides status reports to Director of Conference Services.

Assists the Director of Conference Services with assigned duties to ensure successful meetings and events. Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills

Skills in effective communication (written and verbal) with staff, colleagues, associates, and professional level guests of the facilities.

Highly skilled in customer service.

Skills in handling multiple events and related support services.

Knowledge and skill in the use of basic office software system (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)

While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The colleague is frequently required to move furniture to set up for events. The colleague may be required to bend or reach above the shoulders.

The colleague must frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
