Diabetic eye disease is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. Help provide access to annual diabetic retinopathy screening and ensure early diagnosis of diabetic eye disease.
UMMA is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Diabetic Eye Exam Volunteer to assist our clinical team! This is an excellent opportunity to get hands-on experience with patients and become and integral part of our care team.

Locations: UMMA Health Al-Shifa Clinic - 2334 N Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 92405
Responsibilities include:
• Provide access to Diabetic Retinal support to UMMA patients by taking digital photos with our retinal camera
• Document in electronic medical record when photos are taken
• Send images to EyePACs for remote reading by ophthalmologists
• Document readings in the electronic medical record and assign to providers for review
• Outreach to patients who are overdue for their diabetic eye exams
• Confirm scheduled appointments
Requirements:
Computer savvy. Good oral and written communication skills. Mileage reimbursement available if requested to travel. H.S. Diploma, currently enrolled in related school program. Able to lift up to 40 lbs. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
