Job Description

UFIT is hiring a strong, organized, and student-focused Site Supervisor to oversee our Yard & Physical Education (PE) Coaches on school campuses. This role is responsible for program quality, staff performance, student safety, and daily operations of UFITs recess, lunch supervision, and PE programs.

The Site Supervisor ensures that UFIT coaches are delivering safe, structured, inclusive, and high-quality yard supervision and PE instruction while maintaining compliance with school and district expectations.

This is a leadership role for someone who can manage people, solve problems in real time, and uphold UFITs standards of equity, professionalism, and student engagement.


Key Responsibilities

Staff Supervision & Coaching

  • Supervise, support, and evaluate Yard & PE Coaches on assigned campuses
  • Conduct regular observations and provide feedback on:
    • Yard supervision
    • Student engagement
    • Safety practices
    • PE instruction quality
  • Ensure coaches follow UFIT curriculum, lesson structure, and behavior management standards
  • Support onboarding, training, and shadowing of new coaches
  • Address performance issues and escalate concerns to UFIT leadership as needed
  • Ensure proper coverage for recess, lunch, and PE blocks

Program Quality & Operations

  • Ensure recess and lunch yards are:
    • Safe
    • Structured
    • Well-organized
    • Inclusive and equitable
  • Ensure PE classes are:
    • Standards-aligned
    • Age-appropriate
    • Well-managed
    • Instructionally sound
  • Monitor transitions, equipment setup, and activity flow
  • Ensure UFIT systems, schedules, and procedures are followed daily
  • Review and submit required reports (EODs, incident reports, attendance, site notes, etc.)

Student Safety & School Relationships

  • Enforce all student safety, supervision, and emergency procedures
  • Serve as the primary UFIT point of contact for school administrators and staff
  • Address parent, teacher, or school concerns professionally and promptly
  • Ensure incidents, injuries, and behavior issues are documented and reported correctly
  • Maintain strong working relationships with principals, APs, and school staff

Equity, Culture & SEL Implementation

  • Ensure all students have access to participate regardless of skill level or background
  • Monitor and reinforce positive behavior supports and SEL-aligned language
  • Ensure coaches promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and inclusion
  • Intervene and support staff during high-risk or high-conflict situations

Administrative & Compliance Duties

  • Ensure all staff are compliant with:
    • District requirements
  • Track attendance, punctuality, and site coverage
  • Assist with scheduling, substitutions, and staffing adjustments
  • Support audits, site visits, and district check-ins
  • Represent UFIT professionally at all times

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience supervising staff in a school, youth program, or sports environment
  • Experience working with children or youth (K12 preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Student supervision
    • Yard management
    • Group behavior management
  • Comfortable observing, coaching, and correcting staff performance
  • Highly organized, reliable, and professional
  • Must be able to pass:
    • Livescan background check (At applicants Expense)
    • TB test
    • School district compliance requirements

Preferred:

  • Background in physical education, coaching, recreation, or youth development
  • Experience in K12 school systems (especially LAUSD or similar districts)
  • Familiarity with SEL and positive behavior interventions
  • CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
  • Experience managing schedules, reports, and site operations
