- second in command of the kitchen and reports directly to the chef
- Kitchen Management: Running the line, delegating tasks, and ensuring food leaves the kitchen promptly.
- Quality Control: Tasting dishes, enforcing presentation standards, and ensuring food safety regulations are met.
- Staff Mentoring: Training line and prep cooks, and stepping into any kitchen station to help if a cook is absent or overwhelmed.
- Inventory & Ordering: Tracking stock levels, receiving deliveries, and minimizing food waste.
- Menu Development: Collaborating with the executive chef on new recipes, specials, and seasonal menus
- keeping the kitchen, line, dry storage, coolers, prep area clean and organized and ready for any health inspections or quality control inspections
- must have previous experience in a supervisory role in the kitchen of at least 1 year or 5 years experience as a line cook. Must have at leat 2 years experience working in a somewhat casual/upscale dining restaurant.
- must have experience in banquets/wine dinners/ higher end dinning experiences
- culinary or 4 year college degree in related field preferred
- this is a 40 hour a week job with nights and weekends required
