We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support our Land Development team. This role provides hands-on experience in site development projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The Project Engineer will assist with design, drafting, analysis, and coordination tasks while gaining exposure to real-world civil engineering practices, codes, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with site civil design tasks, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway layouts
- Support development of engineering plans and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Perform engineering calculations for stormwater management, earthwork, and utilities
- Assist with preparation of technical reports, exhibits, and permit application materials
- Organize and review survey data, geotechnical reports, and as-built drawings
- Support coordination with internal teams, municipalities, utility providers, and consultants
- Conduct data collection, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimate support as needed
- Participate in project meetings and gain exposure to project workflows and deadlines
- Perform other engineering-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Engineer Intern Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and design standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with land development projects or internships
- Familiarity with local, state, or municipal development codes and permitting processes
- Exposure to stormwater modeling software (e.g., ICPR, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, EPA SWMM)
