Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Learning Specialist to lead the design, development, and design of higher education content. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in instructional design, adult education, and learning technology to create engaging, effective learning experiences. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with subject matter experts to define learning objectives, designing curricula and assessments, and developing multimedia learning materials aligned with established quality standards and rubrics. The Learning Designer will structure content within learning management systems, incorporate best practices in accessibility and universal design for learning, and use data and feedback to refine course design. The role also involves coordinating project timelines, documenting design decisions, and partnering with internal teams to ensure consistent, high-quality learner experiences across programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full instructional design process to create impactful training solutions.
• Develop and manage comprehensive curricula and course content tailored for adult learners across various platforms including LMS (Learning Management System) environments such as Blackboard or similar systems.
• Oversee project management activities related to training initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content requirements and translate complex concepts into clear, accessible instructional materials.
• Conduct one on one faculty meeting utilizing strong presentation skills to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
• Strong at Quality Matters or other rubrics
• Maintain expertise in LMS administration, content development, and instructional design best practices to continuously improve training effectiveness.

Skills

• Extensive experience with ADDIE instructional design methodology and project management principles.
• Proficiency in LMS platforms such as Canvas, D2L or comparable systems for content delivery and tracking learner progress.
• Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, content creation, and adult education principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly.
