Job description

Telvero is hiring a Senior Revenue & Margin Accountant on behalf of our client, a growing organization building and operating next-generation fiber infrastructure. This role is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of a defined portfolio of customer contracts, including revenue recognition, billing, collections, direct cost accounting, and margin analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own revenue and margin accounting for an assigned portfolio of customer contracts.
  • Prepare and analyze contract-level reporting for revenue, direct costs, and profitability.
  • Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance and maintain supporting contract schedules.
  • Prepare and reconcile revenue accruals, deferrals, contract balances, and related direct costs.
  • Analyze margin performance and explain variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Compile and validate billing data to prepare accurate and timely customer invoices.
  • Interpret customer contracts, pricing schedules, rate structures, and amendments to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and support collection efforts for assigned customers.
  • Research and resolve billing, revenue, and cost discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and external audit requests.
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, Legal, and other internal teams to validate costs, clarify contract requirements, and resolve accounting issues.
  • Provide financial and margin analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting, and automation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experiencepreferably involving contract-based revenue.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience with revenue accounting, billing, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret customer contracts, pricing structures, and financial data.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience with margin or cost accounting.
  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber, communications infrastructure, or technology.
  • Data analytics and/or FP&A experience.
  • Experience supporting external audits and internal controls.

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, Colorado.
